MOMENT San Pedro Square Update (July 2025)

Bittersweet news to share. We will be saying a temporary goodbye to our four amazing creative small businesses at MOMENT San Pedro Square: @yourstrulymaryanne, @bohomoon.art, @theknottycorgi, and @karepango. Due to the upcoming expected construction project on the San Pedro Square & Market Street garage facade, MOMENT San Pedro Square will temporarily be closing its doors. But don’t worry, we aren’t leaving San Pedro Square for good!

Our shops will be back next year, and we still have upcoming events at @sanpedrosquare:

July 26th: Stationery Depot: a San Pedro Saturdays event in collaboration with @sjdowntown & @sjmade
September 20th: So Yesterday Market by @pettyparty.co & @moment.sj
More to be announced in the future!

We're obviously disappointed to step away for a bit, but this decision is beyond our control. But, we're looking forward to the positive changes the construction will bring to San Pedro Square. If all goes according to plan, we can't wait to return in late 2026/early 2027 with a refreshed look, and come back even stronger with supporting local small businesses.

Businesses stay up to a max of two years at MOMENT San Pedro Square— a time where they can experiment with their retail concepts and try their hand at running a physical store. Parking & Getting to MOMENT San Pedro Square

By Car: On-site parking is available at the Market & San Pedro Square Parking Garage (45 N. San Pedro Street, San José, CA 95113). First 90 minutes are FREE (except during Sharks games and events at SAP Center). For details on hours, rates, and availability, visit ParkSJ.org. MOMENT San Pedro Square storefronts do not offer parking validation.

By Public Transit: The Saint James station, on the VTA light rail, is located on First Street (a 6 minute walk to San Pedro Square). Related routes at this stop include the Green Line, 22 23, 522, and 66. Walk along San Pedro Street until you see the storefronts.

MOMENT DTSJ arose from a Knight Cities Challenge grant awarded in 2015 to San Jose Downtown Association (SJDA), who envisioned the amazing things possible in converting twelve parking spaces on the sidewalk level of the San Pedro Market Parking Garage into four dynamic micro-retail spaces along with a sidewalk patio to add public space to our rapidly growing urban core. MOMENT DTSJ is part of SPSQUARED, a SJDA initiative designed to activate, elevate and celebrate San Pedro Street within San Pedro Square.
